COLLEGE EDUCATION
Piracicaba's colleges and universities are known nationally and
abroad, graduating professionals and specialized man power for the
work market. In 1993 there were 14, 120 students enrolled in undergraduate,
master's, doctorate, specialization and technical courses.
The University
of Agronomy School "Luiz de Queiroz" offers a wide
range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Agronomy. CENA
- The Center of Nuclear Energy Applied to Agriculture offers
graduate courses in introduction to science and nuclear energy applied
to agriculture. Undergraduate courses are also offered.
The Methodist University of Piracicaba has a wide range of undergraduate
courses, with major in Economics, Business Administration, Law,
Engineering, etc. The university also offers specialization courses
and Master's Degree in several areas. A special Department is responsible
for interaction between private enterprises and the university,
offering the community course planning, training, consulting and
other services.
FOP, the Dentistry College offers undergraduate courses in Dentistry
and specialization in several specific areas.
The Engineering College of Piracicaba (Municipal Foundation) offers
undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
and Computer Science besides basic technical courses in Data Processing
and Industrial Mechanics.
