Music School of Piracicaba

Founded on March 9, 1953, it is considered on artistic patrimony of the city. The school has two indoor theaters - "Ernest Mahle" room with 300 seats, "Cecília Mahle" room with 150 seats and an open air area for outdoor performances. Classic music, choir and orchestra, and individual presentations take place all year round.


Corn on the Cob Fair

Promoted by the Cultural Center of Tanquinho, a small district of Piracicaba, the corn on the cob fair takes place in March with lots of corn, country music, folklore groups and shows.

The World Nation's Fair

Organized by the municipality's Fund of Social Solidarity, the event's revenues are donated to the participating charity institutions. It became nationally known after the 12th Fair. It takes place in May and during four days there are shows, folklore, dances and performances. Each charity institution represents a different country. There are more than 25 specialty restaurants with food from all over the world.

Around 100 thousand people attend the fair at the Engenho Central.

 
Saint John Festival in Tupi

A tradicional festival that takes place on Saint John's night in June with folklore, music and dance, shows, bonfire and fireworks. Around 40 thousand people come to this event, enjoying the typical food and beverage and the traditional "walk over the burning ashes" by the locals.
